Privacy Policy – K Sharp Ltd

From 25 May 2018 new legislation designed to protect personal data requires K Sharp Ltd ("K Sharp") to be compliant and explicit about the handling of any data held or processed by our technology or held on paper by us that can be used to identify a living person (a ‘data subject’).  Individuals have rights under this legislation which can be exercised in relation to the data we hold about you. These rights are:

  • A right to deletion of information we hold about you.

  • A right to restrict the processing of your personal data in relation to a service we provide. This may delay or prevent us from delivering a service to you available to other members

K Sharp acquires, processes and retains only that personal data necessary and legitimate in its role as a consultancy. Data will not be shared, leased, sold or transmitted in any manner not sanctioned by the individual to whom the data relates. Individuals have access to ways in which their data and consents may be managed, defined or withdrawn at any time. Data will be held secure and confidential by K Sharp at all times.

K Sharp collects and processes personal information so that we can meet the lawful and reasonable expectations of our role as a professional organisation. The data that you provide to us will aim to be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

We will not make any disclosures of data to third parties for marketing purposes unless you opt in.

We will maintain records that show what each individual has consented to, including what they were informed at the time of choice and when and how they consented.  Data will be securely disposed of by us once it is no longer required.

Your consent to the acquisition, processing and retention of personal data by K Sharp will be sought on a basis that is clear, affirmative, intelligible, accessible and non-binding. We will seek consent separate from any terms and conditions that apply to specific services. Consent is not a precondition of signature for a service. We recognise that silence or inactivity does not constitute consent.

You can instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you by submitting a subject access request. Subject to the request not being unfounded or excessive no charge will be applied. Any request will also be subject to evidence of your identity in making the request. A photocopy of your passport certified by a solicitor or your bank and an original copy of a utility bill showing your address dated within three months of any request will be accepted. We may withhold personal information that you request to the extent permitted by law. Subject access requests should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to the Data Protection Officer at the address on our website. The request will be dealt with within one month of receipt of proof of identity.

K Sharp seeks to meet the prevailing standards when acquiring, processing and retaining personal data. We encourage visitors to alert us if you believe our collection, processing or use of data to be unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We welcome suggestions for further improving how we act.
