Project Nomos is the investigation of Internet of Things concepts for the Blue Light Services, in particular the Police.
This project explored the issues surrounding the evolution of wearable technology to explore the principle of taking a platform based approach and what could be done to make wearable technology easier to develop and more accessible. The paper explores where the boundary lies between what constitutes wearable technology and technology that is carried rather than worn and it is proposed that the Smart Phone, being the data hub for most Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANS) is the outer boundary, and that here are 4 levels of wearable technology, these ranging from those inside the body (Embedded) to those simply Carried in the pocket (Carried).
